The library countdown begins

The Sea Vista Community Library is one step closer to opening its doors, with the official handover of the facility to Kouga Municipality that took place in February.

The municipality’s portfolio councillor for community services Danny Benson (right) accepted the key to the library on behalf of executive mayor Horatio Hendricks.

He also promised to have the library fully operational within the next two months, explaining that it will take six to eight weeks to program computers, and shelve and catalogue the more than 4 000 books before residents can get down to some serious reading.

The library also caters for persons with disabilities as it is wheelchair-friendly and boasts an SA Library for the Blind section.
